John 12:12-19
The Triumphal Entry
In this passage, the Pharisees see the power of Jesus based on the numbers of people who came to welcome him with palm branches. This is what we should see - everyone praising God. We shouldn't see people trying to undermine the beauty Christ brings.
2 Timothy 3:10-17
Paul's Charge to Timothy
"Yes, and everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. But the evil people and impostors will flourish." (12,13)
To live a godly life, studying the Bible is necessary for spiritual growth.
The Bible teaches us what is true. We really don't need to read supporting texts to the Bible... The Bible also shows us that is wrong in our lives and helps us to do what is right.
So Father, I pray for your sense of discipline to submerge in your word every day. I know this morning, I fell out of my normal routine because I was too tired to get up at 6am and as such am writing out my devotion at this time.
