John 8:12-30
Jesus, Light of the World & The Unbelieving People Warned
" I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won't be stumbling through darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life." (12)
"When you have lifted up the Son of Man on the cross, then you will realize that I am he and that I do nothing on my own, but I speak what the Father taught me. And the one who sent me is with me- he has not deserted me. For I always do those things that are pleasing to him. (28, 29)
What great words of comfort! There is so much darkness that exists in this world - from extreme poverty to detrimental desires for sex and money... It is comforting to know that this light is there for all to receive and that God will never cease to love or abandon me. Everything on this Earth will leave me one day... nothing is forever, except God.

"And I command you before God, who gives life to all, and before Jesus Christ, who gave a good testimony before Pontius Pilate, that you obey his commands with all purity. Then no one can find fault with you from now until our Lord Jesus Christ returns." (13, 14)
So long as we look to the light and listen to the Holy Spirit within us, and do what is pleasing to God, we will be protected. For God is with us... So Father, I thank you for never abandoning me in my time of trouble. You were there when I asked for your help and I know you will always be there to comfort me. I pray for your strength, wisdom and armour of righteousness, so that I may go out to battle for you- and not shame or disappoint you, but bring glory to your name, so others may also find comfort in your arms.
